is there a USB adapter for wireless connection for a ibm think pad lenovo R61e?
or can i just use a regular USB adapter?
Did it not come with wireless preinstalled?
Any USB adapter should work. Although you might want to consider a PCIe slot adapter – does not take up a USB slot, probably better function and it will probably stick out less and be less fragile.
If you do not have a preintalled wireless then you can probably get an internal mini PCI-e card from Lenovo.
Look though this document:

and it will tell you the part number (FRU number) for your model
