Can your dot com business name be different from your business account name?
If I start an internet based business under the name (example) musicalgenius.com but the business account that was open for the business is under my surname “johnsonmusicalgenius,” would I have to change my dot com by adding my surname “johnsonmusicalgenius.com” so that it matches the business account name?

Your website can be a completly different name to your business account name. eg Bob.com could be the website for your business which has a trading name of ‘john smith plumbing’ – might be confusing for customers though!
Easiest thing to do would be just tell your bank your business name has changed.
