Should American Idol do an audition episode for Youtube video submissions?
For example, if you live in New York City and the closest audition city for that season is St. Louis, why not give people a chance to post a video when they can’t afford airplane tickets or to fill up on gas if they decide to drive all the way there?
that sounds like a good idea in theory.
but i don’t think the producers would be willing to go through all the hassle of sifting through youtube videos- they already have a handful of stuff to do on the show itself.
(i mean, the current system only allows a select few to see the judges- before they get to audition in front of the judges, the contestants have to perform in other rooms).
plus, i don’t think the producers would like to showcase auditions based on youtube videos-when it comes to the material which they would choose for the final show which is aired.
